TCAF2012

tcaf2012

So I was busy having such a great time at TCAF all weekend that I pretty much took no photos! But here’s the one blurry one of me at my table that exists.

This weekend was such a blast. I met so many people I’ve known on line for ages on tumblr and back to the lj days and it was AMAZING! I bonded with some new pals over dinners filled with Ducktale universe discussions. I took part in my first panel thing drawing for a bunch of kids! Sold comics, traded comics, gave away comics, bought comics. Lived, laughed AND LOVED! Thank you so so much to everyone who came by my table to visit, you guys made my weekend amazing! I feel so pumped and recharged creatively from being surrounded by so many creative types. I can’t wait for tcaf2013!

You guys, TCAF is this weekend and like always, it’s free to attend! I’ll be at table #206 all weekend with Craig so stop by and say hello!

I’m also going to be participating in the Kids Comics Quickfire on Saturday, so here’s the info on that if you want to check it out. It’s going to be a blast, I’m super excited!

Saturday, May 5
1:00pm-1:45pm: Kids Comics Quickfire!
Location: Toronto Reference Library, 2nd Floor:
Appel Salon, Novella Room

Part drawing jam, part fast-paced game show! Volunteers from the audience are paired off with (or against) professional cartoonists in a series of fun-filled drawing challenges! Featuring Dave Roman (Astronaut Academy),Raina Telgemeier (SMILE), John Green (Teen Boat) and Bob Flynn (Heeby Jeeby Comix).

TCAF is one of my favourite events of the year, it’s such a great time and always worth coming out for! So come on out to Toronto this weekend for some comics and art!

TCAF 2011

Man, what a weekend! I had such an amazing time and feel so lucky to have been selected as an exhibitor for the show. Thanks to Chris Butcher and all the volunteers and everyone involved in TCAF for making it such a magical show to be a part of! I hope everyone who made it out had as good a time as I did all weekend. I can’t wait for TCAF 2012!

Craig and I hosted the amazing power couple of Jordyn Bochon and Tim Carpenter for the weekend. It was the best of times and it was the bestest of times! Can’t wait to have those guys here again.

We all were lucky enough to spend some time this weekend with Kyla Vanderklugt and Colleen MacIsaac and another one of my favourite couples Raina Telgemeier and Dave Roman! I wish all my pictures from our dinner together wasn’t a blurry mess!

One of my regrets from the weekend is that I didn’t get to talk everyone for longer! Isabelle, Katie, Meghan, Michael, Emily, Fawn, Joe! it was so wonderful to meet you all after being separated from the internet for so long! There are so many more I’m sure of it, so apologies if I missed anyone here!

Something I was really looking forward to over the weekend was meeting artists Natsume Ono and Mawil! I have been fans of their work for a while and was lucky enough to have them sign some books for me.

I can’t wait to dig into this amazing haul of comics that were given/traded/bought by Craig and I!

And look at these adorable stickers my pal Lindsay gave to me. It’s her and I as DEMON HUNTERS!

Thank you so much to everyone who stopped by my table! It was so amazing to hear the nice things you had to say. There were even a few Crown Royale fans that I got to meet! I really can’t thank you all enough! I really really appreciate you taking the time to say hi! YOU GUYS ARE THE GREATEST! Thanks for making my weekend amazing!

Lots of exciting things!

Super Punch Tarot Show

The Super Punch Tarot art show is coming up at Bear and Bird Gallery! Check out my King of Coins piece on the flyer!

Wizard World Toronto Comic Con

Also coming up in March is the Wizard World Toronto Comic Con which I was invited to exhibit at. Really excited for that one as it’s my first time attending the show! Hope to see some of you there!

TCAF 2011

Further down the road in May is TCAF which I will be returning to exhibit at this year! I had such a great time last year and met so many people. I’m really looking forward to this show! Best of all it’s free to attend so everyone should come check it out!

Black Forest

Lastly, Thurop Van Orman has started releasing some images from his new project, Black Forest. Last year he commissioned me to do some text embroidery based off of his design and there it is on the top left corner. Kind of neat to be involved in a tiny way :D
